The average cost of a regular Labrador in the US can be around $800. This is of course just an average, based on a long lot of annual sales that can skew it that way. Not all Labradors are the same as well, and there are some that are bred so special that they might appear to cost higher, but in reality, you are getting your money’s worth, due to their desirability, type, lineage, and reputation of the breeder.

English Labradors vs American Labradors

Our main difference here at Smokey Mountain Labrador is that we only focus on breeding the English version of Labradors. They are known to be a better quality to their American counterparts, due to their lineage and heritage. English Labradors tend to be a lot stockier and a bit shorter than their counterparts. 

This is also one of the main reasons they are allowed to pass the breed standard in dog shows and competitions as they only appear to be ‘medium sized’ dogs. Their natural demeanor is much calmer as well as compared to American Labradors, which end up being high-energy dogs. This makes them a more suitable choice for a family with children, as they are considered to be less maintenance. They also are descendants of hunting dogs that are already protective by nature to their families. 

Lineage

We value history and lineage and we have worked professionally with dogs for the past 40 years. We are fully focused and dedicated to this and we made sure that our pups come from champions. Our pups are sired by AKC grand champions and AKC champions. Their parents are some of the most victorious dogs in these competitions globally. 

They are also featured in many bests of class Labrador-specific dog shows. As you might be well aware, these dogs need to be bred and trained in a specific format to even get to a level of competition, let alone be consistent winners as well. We then carefully ensure that we breed this champion family and produce a winning litter every time, where the best possible Labrador imaginable is born.

We are not a “puppy mill”

We love animals, especially our beautiful Labradors, and we do not rush the production of them, or produce so many that we have a large stock. Even placing a deposit with us here will get you a puppy eventually, but you will have to join our waiting list and we promise to do our best to get you one of these beautiful animals

We breed from champions

This means you will get a happy and more importantly strong and healthy dog. We make sure that we provide a wonderful environment for all our dogs to live in, and due to the rigorous needs of being show dogs, these animals are extremely fit, well-tempered, and are genetically superior to similar dogs. We also only breed English Labrador dogs, not anything related to their American cousins. 

We offer support and a guarantee

We offer all the necessary paperwork needed for your new puppy and help start the vaccination process by providing the first one. Another thing we do that can happen is we provide a hip and elbow dysplasia guarantee, meaning that your puppy will be checked by healthcare professionals for any issues that could arise in those areas. If there is any issue, we will keep the puppy and offer a suitable replacement.
